The Zombie Index: identifying unproductive pages

The Zombie Index combines technical quality (QualityRisk) and the absence of commercial performance (GSC traffic) to target pages that need attention first.

Definition

A zombie page combines two simultaneous problems:

  1. Poor technical quality: high QualityRisk
  2. Zero performance: little or no organic traffic (low GSC impressions)

The Zombie Index is calculated between 0 and 100 (100 = worst case). Threshold: Zombie ≥ 20 = needs attention.

What to do with zombie pages

Zombie Score Action
20–40 Improve content and internal linking
40–60 Rewrite or merge with another page
> 60 Deindex or remove if no backlinks
